5 AI Lead Generation Tools for Life Insurance Agents in 2026

Kushal Magar

By Kushal Magar · October 21, 2026 · 13 min read

Key Takeaway

Most life insurance leads are sold to several agents, so contact rate and speed to dial decide your return more than the sticker price. Compare lead sources (Hometown Quotes, Aged Lead Store) and dialer and texting stacks (Ringy, Convoso) on cost per issued policy, and use SyncGTM when you sell key-person and buy-sell coverage to business owners. Confirm consent, Do Not Call and licensing rules before you dial or text.

AI lead generation life insurance buyers care about comes down to one question: which leads actually turn into issued policies, and how fast can you reach them. This guide compares five tools across lead sourcing, dialer and texting automation, and business-owner prospecting for key-person and buy-sell coverage.

We did not buy leads or run any of these tools. Lead models, features and prices come from each vendor’s own pages and are labelled as vendor claims, and where a page was silent we say so. Property and casualty, commercial and benefits agencies should read our companion guide to AI lead generation for insurance; this one covers individual life agents.

AI Lead Generation Life Insurance: TL;DR

Short answer: Buy real-time leads from a marketplace such as Hometown Quotes if you can dial within minutes, or aged leads from Aged Lead Store if you have idle dial time and a tight budget. Run the calls and texts through a stack like Ringy or Convoso. If you sell key-person or buy-sell coverage to business owners, build that list with SyncGTM, because consumer lead vendors do not serve that market.

Aged Lead StoreAged shared leads3 to 365 days old; for manual dialing and similar use (vendor page)$0.25 to $4.50 per life lead (vendor page)

Why Contact Rate Beats Lead Price

A cheap lead that never answers costs more than an expensive one that does. The number to track is cost per issued policy: lead spend divided by policies issued, which folds in contact rate, close rate and refunds. ActiveProspect’s insurance leads cost guidepublishes life ranges of roughly $20 to $45 for shared leads, $75 to $150 for exclusive leads and $80 to $200 or more for live transfers. Those are one vendor’s estimates, not audited benchmarks.

The table below uses made-up rates to show why lead price alone misleads. Replace them with your own numbers.

Lead type (hypothetical)Price per leadContact rateContact-to-saleCost per sale
Shared real-time$3030%10%$1,000
Exclusive real-time$11060%12%$1,528
Aged shared$25%4%$1,000

Cost per sale = price per lead ÷ (contact rate × contact-to-sale rate). Illustration only; these are not measured rates.

The point is the formula, not the output. When many agents get the same shared lead, the first dialer to connect often gets the conversation, so your contact rate depends on your speed. That is why dialer and texting automation sits in this list next to the lead sources.

How We Compared Them (No Hands-On Test)

We read each vendor’s homepage, FAQ or pricing page and recorded what it says about lead exclusivity, delivery timing, dialing, texting and price. We did not measure contact or close rates. Not every tool here is AI in the strict sense: the lead vendors are data sources, Ringy and Convoso add AI-assisted features to dialing and messaging, and SyncGTM is a data and enrichment layer you reach from an AI client.

For wider background, see our overviews of AI lead gen software and AI lead generation for financial advisors, since many life agents also sell planning or investment products.

1. Hometown Quotes

Best for: agents who want real-time consumer leads and will dial them within minutes.

Hometown Quoteslists life alongside auto, home and health among its lead types. Its FAQ says leads are matched to agents in real time, within seconds of a consumer’s submission. It also says leads are verified by third-party bureaus and “sold 4 or fewer times,” so they are shared, not one-to-one. The homepage mentions exclusive options, but the FAQ does not define them.

The FAQ lists reasons you can request a credit: invalid contact information, non-consumers, recycled leads, people who did not request a quote, duplicates within 30 days and incentivized leads. Billing is by deposit, with automatic re-billing when the balance reaches $50.

Watch-outs: the pricing page says pricing is custom, based on product type and risk class, with no per-lead figures. The consumer consent text on its form refers to calls and texts that may be auto-dialed or prerecorded, but the page does not describe your obligations as the buyer. Ask for the consent record on every lead.

2. Aged Lead Store

Best for: new or high-volume dialing teams with a very low cost ceiling per lead.

Aged Lead Store sells older shared internet leads. Its homepage lists life insurance and final expense leads at $0.25 to $4.50 each, 3 to 365 days old, and IUL leads at $2.00 to $6.00 each, 181 to 500 days old, with price varying by age and volume. It describes a satisfaction guarantee that replaces or refunds wrong numbers, disconnects and leads that miss your filters.

Read the compliance wording closely. The site describes the leads as shared and for use in email, direct mail, door knocking or manual dialing, and says they are not meant for regulated technologies to phones on a Do Not Call list. Treat that as the vendor telling you not to point an autodialer or text blast at them.

Watch-outs: the page does not say how consent was captured or give contact rates. Expect low contact rates on older leads and plan call volume accordingly.

3. Ringy

Best for: solo agents and small teams who want a CRM, dialer and texting in one low-cost seat.

Ringy lists a CRM at $119 per month with a cloud softphone, click-to-call, lead distribution, call recording, local caller ID, and SMS and email drip automation. The Power Dialer is a $70 per month add-on, Call Scripting is $10 and AI Tools (suggested replies) is $10. Usage is metered: outbound texts at $0.01 each, outbound calls at $0.01 a minute, with 1,000 minutes and 1,000 texts included monthly.

Its homepage has an insurance use case and the Trust My Producer feature, which lets licensed producers show credentials for customers to verify. The pages we read do not describe a lead marketplace, DNC scrubbing or TCPA tooling.

Watch-outs: the dialer, scripting and AI features are separate add-ons, so price the full stack. Ask about Do Not Call scrubbing and consent tracking before you automate texting.

4. Convoso

Best for: larger life call centers where speed to dial and call volume matter most.

Convoso is an outbound calling platform that lists insurance among its industries. Its homepage promotes predictive dialing, a speed-to-lead of under five seconds, a Voice AI Agent and configurable cadences with retry logic. Its pricing page says plans are custom by seats, features and integrations, annual plans are the main option, there is no free trial and carrier fees are billed separately.

The homepage also cites vendor-reported results such as a 4X contact-rate boost and a 75% conversion increase. We cannot verify those, and they depend on the baseline.

Watch-outs:predictive dialing is the most heavily regulated way to call, so confirm DNC and consent handling before you switch it on. Convoso’s page does not describe its own DNC tooling in detail, so ask.

5. SyncGTM

Best for: agents who sell key-person, buy-sell and business-owner coverage and need to find the owners.

SyncGTM is not a consumer lead marketplace. It is a data and enrichment layer you use through an MCP server in an AI client, so you can describe the business owners you want and get a list back. The tools below carry these credit costs, per their live tool descriptions:

  • find_companies: search by industry, size, revenue, keywords, NAICS or SIC code and HQ location, 0.2 credits per company returned.
  • find_people: filter by job title, seniority, location and company attributes, 0.2 credits per person returned.
  • find_work_email: 1 credit per call, and misses are not billed.
  • verify_email: 0.1 credits per address.
  • find_mobile_number: 10 credits per call, and misses are not billed.

Size a list with the credits estimator and the pricing page.

Watch-outs: SyncGTM does not sell leads, dial or text. Its data finds and contacts owners; it does not tell you who needs insurance. You still run compliant outreach and hold the license.

Key-Person and Buy-Sell: The B2B Niche

Key-person coverage insures a business against the loss of someone it depends on, and buy-sell coverage funds the purchase of an owner’s share after a death. Both are sold to the business, so the prospect is an owner or partner, not a web shopper. That is closer to B2B selling than consumer lead buying, as we explain in is insurance sales considered a B2B sale.

A workable flow with SyncGTM has four steps:

  1. Run find_companies for your territory by industry, size band and location. Multi-owner firms such as professional practices and small manufacturers are common starting points.
  2. Run find_people for owners, founders, partners and presidents at those companies.
  3. Run find_work_email and verify_email on the people you will contact.
  4. Send a short, personal note that asks about succession or ownership planning, and follow up by phone if consent and DNC rules allow.

Rough cost for 100 companies, 100 owners, and an email lookup on each is about 20 + 20 + up to 100 credits, plus 10 to verify the addresses you find. That is a ceiling of around 150 credits, because misses are free. Skip find_mobile_number unless you have a lawful basis to text or call mobile numbers.

Be precise about what the list is. It identifies who owns and runs a business. It does not reveal anyone’s insurance needs, health or insurability, and your messaging should not imply it does. Two further points: employer-owned life insurance has its own tax rules, including written notice and consent from the insured employee under 26 U.S.C. 101(j) and an annual IRS Form 8925report, and policy design is a matter for the owner’s tax and legal advisers.

Consent, DNC and Licensing (Not Legal Advice)

Consent on life leads. Automated texts and autodialed calls to mobile numbers need prior express written consent under the TCPA. The Eleventh Circuit vacated the FCC’s one-to-one consent rule in Insurance Marketing Coalition v. FCC, and the FCC conformed its rules in a Federal Register document dated August 29, 2025. Our insurance companion guide covers the ruling; the live rule text is in the eCFR. Ask every vendor for a consent record per lead, and note that ActiveProspect, which sells consent tooling, recommends buying only leads with documented third-party consent.

Do Not Call. Scrub consumer numbers against the National Do Not Call Registry and your own opt-out list. The FTC’s Telemarketing Sales Rule guidance says most calls between a telemarketer and a business are exempt, but it also flags calls to business lines that solicit individual employees to buy for their own use. Do not assume your owner list is exempt; get advice on your specific script.

Licensing. Licenses are issued by each state; NIPR offers tools and state requirement information. Make sure the producer making contact is licensed where the prospect is. AI that drafts or sends outreach does not change that. AI-voice calls add their own state rules, so check before using a Voice AI Agent.

Which Tool Should You Pick?

  • You can dial in minutes: Hometown Quotes real-time leads, tracked on cost per issued policy.
  • Tight budget, spare dial time: Aged Lead Store, used with manual dialing as the vendor describes.
  • Solo agent, one seat for CRM, dialer and texts: Ringy, after pricing the add-ons.
  • Call-center volume: Convoso, after a demo and a compliance walkthrough.
  • Business owners and partners: SyncGTM, then personal, compliant outreach.

Most agents end up stacking a lead source with a dialing tool. If you also prospect other professionals, our buying intent data tools comparison lists more signal sources to test.
