Surf Beyond is a Norwegian electric scooter startup founded in 2021, focusing on micromobility services in smaller cities across Norway. The company began with 1,000 turquoise scooters in one city and has since expanded its fleet to 5,000 scooters across 10 cities after acquiring local competitor Zvipp. Surf Beyond specializes in the rental of electric scooters, aiming to provide urban mobility solutions in smaller markets rather than competing in larger metropolitan areas. The company has recently enhanced its fleet by acquiring assets from the US competitor Superpedestrian, which includes 25,000 electric scooters and proprietary technology. Additionally, Surf Beyond has soft-launched Surf Mobil, a mobile subscription service that offers free minutes for scooter use, with more products in development.
