MailTester Ninja Review 2026: Email Verifier Pricing and Accuracy

Kushal Magar

By Kushal Magar · October 27, 2026 · 12 min read

Key Takeaway

MailTester Ninja is an SMTP-based email verifier with a simple API and a no-storage policy. Instead of credits, it sells a daily cap: Starter is $6.99 a week and Pro is $23.99 a month for 100,000 emails a day, and Ultimate is $39.99 a month for 200,000. That makes it one of the cheapest verifiers at high volume. Catch-alls come back as uncertain (mb), never valid. The trade-offs are slow per-key API speed (about 1 check a second on Pro), no catch-all scoring, no published accuracy benchmark, and mixed uptime and support reviews. Our rating: 3.8/5.

This MailTester Ninja review answers one question: can a verifier that costs $6.99 a week replace the credit-based tools most outbound teams pay for? For high-volume list cleaning, mostly yes.

We read MailTester Ninja's homepage, pricing page, API docs, FAQ, and user guide in October 2026, then checked Trustpilot and other reviews. We did not run a paid accuracy test, so accuracy numbers below are labeled as vendor claims.

One thing to know first: the review that ranks today quotes old plans. It lists Pro at $16.99 and Ultimate at $49.99 with a 500,000-a-day cap, which no longer match the pricing page.

TL;DR: MailTester Ninja Review 2026

  • What it is:An SMTP-based email verifier and email finder with a REST API, from Unlimited & Limited in London.
  • Price: $6.99/week Starter (100k emails a day), $23.99/mo Pro (100k a day), $39.99/mo Ultimate (200k a day). No credits, no overage fees.
  • Catch-all handling: Always returned as mb (uncertain), never as valid. No scoring.
  • Speed: About 1.1 checks a second per key on Pro and 2.3 on Ultimate, so 100,000 emails take roughly a day on Pro.
  • Accuracy: Vendor claims a bounce rate under 1%. No independent benchmark is published.
  • Best for: Agencies and outbound teams that clean large lists often and can wait for results.
  • Rating: 3.8/5.

What Is MailTester Ninja?

MailTester Ninja is an email verification tool that checks whether an address exists before you send to it. It also has an email finder that guesses work addresses from a person's name and company domain.

The tagline is "The email address verifier that stores nothing." There is no account: you buy a plan and get an activation key that unlocks the web app and the API.

MailTester Ninja homepage with the email checker and finder input box, captured for this MailTester Ninja review 2026

MailTester Ninja homepage, October 2026: a free single-email checker up front, with paid keys for bulk and API use.

The product is built by Unlimited & Limited, a company at 27 Old Gloucester St in London. Its FAQ cites more than ten years of experience in email verification.

Not to be confused with: mail-tester.com, a free spam-score test where you send one email to a test address, or MailTester.com, a separate verification platform run by a Belgian company. Our MailTester alternatives guide covers MailTester.com, not MailTester Ninja.

How MailTester Ninja Works

MailTester Ninja checks syntax and MX records, then opens an SMTP conversation with the recipient's mail server and asks whether the mailbox exists. It reads the reply and hangs up before any message is sent.

The FAQ says the method follows RFC 821, the original SMTP standard. Every SMTP verifier works this way; the difference is how each one handles servers that refuse to give a straight answer.

Each check returns one of three codes:

CodeMeaningTypical messageWhat to do
okValid and deliverableAcceptedSafe to send
koInvalid, will bounceRejected, No MXDrop it
mbUncertainCatch-All, MX Error, TimeoutDecide by risk

Source: mailtester.ninja/api, October 2026. The API also lists Limited and SPAM Block messages without saying which code they map to.

Three codes is simpler than most verifiers, which split results into five to ten buckets. That makes the output easy to act on, but it also means "uncertain" covers catch-alls, timeouts, and server errors in one group.

MailTester Ninja Key Features

Email verifier (web app)

Paste any block of text into the verifier and it pulls out every email address, removes duplicates, and checks them. Results export to CSV, and the user guide suggests a VLOOKUP to match them back to your original list.

Email finder

The finder builds likely addresses from a full name and domain, so it can return several candidates. The FAQ limits it to reaching specific people for a genuine reason and says bulk finding is not offered.

REST API

One GET endpoint takes an email and your key and returns JSON. The team publishes Node.js, AI-agent, and no-code examples for n8n, Make, and Zapier on GitHub.

No stored data

MailTester Ninja says it never stores verified emails on its servers and calls itself the only verifier that works this way. That is a vendor claim we could not audit, but the keyless, accountless setup is consistent with it.

Free deliverability tools

The site also offers a free audit report, sender score lookup, and blocklist checker. They are useful quick checks next to a fuller email deliverability test.

MailTester Ninja Pricing: Plans, Limits, What You Actually Pay

MailTester Ninja pricing is a flat subscription with a daily cap, not a pack of credits. Every plan includes the web app and API, and requests over the cap are refused until the quota resets the next day.

PlanPriceMonthly costDaily emailsAPI limitBest for
Starter$6.99 / week~$30.29 / mo if kept running100,000 emails100,000 calls / dayOne-off list cleans of 1 to 2 weeks

MailTester Ninja pricing page showing Starter at 6.99 USD a week, Pro at 23.99 USD and Ultimate at 39.99 USD a month, for this MailTester Ninja review

MailTester Ninja pricing page, October 2026: three plans, all with a daily email cap and no stored personal data.

The Starter trap

Starter is the cheapest entry point, but it is the most expensive plan if you leave it running. At $6.99 a week it works out to about $30 a month, while Pro gives the same 100,000-a-day cap for $23.99.

Use Starter for a one-off clean, then cancel. Two weeks costs $13.98 and covers up to 1.4 million checks if your list and the rate limit allow it.

Cost per 1,000 checks

At full daily use, Pro can verify about 3 million emails a month, roughly $0.008 per 1,000. Ultimate can do about 6 million, roughly $0.007 per 1,000.

Most teams will not max the cap. A team verifying 50,000 emails a month on Pro still pays about $0.48 per 1,000, which is lower than the credit-based tools in our comparison below.

Scaling up and paying

You can buy a plan quantity to multiply the cap, for example Ultimate x5 for 1 million emails a day. Plans can be canceled any time but not paused, and payment runs through Stripe (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link) or Bitcoin.

Vendor claim:"We're on average 50x cheaper than other email verifiers." The footnote compares an average pay-as-you-go price of $1,424 for 1 million emails at seven unnamed verifiers with two weeks of Starter. The provider list is only available on request.

MailTester Ninja API Limits and Speed

Speed is the real price of MailTester Ninja. The API page sets Pro at 11 emails every 10 seconds and Ultimate at 23, which is about one check every 860 ms and 430 ms per key.

There is no batch endpoint, so a bulk job is a loop of single calls. Here is what that means for common list sizes on one key:

List sizePro (11 per 10 sec)Ultimate (23 per 10 sec)
10,000 emails~2.4 hours~1.2 hours
50,000 emails~12 hours~6 hours
100,000 emails~24 hours~12 hours
1,000,000 emails~10 days (or buy quantity)~5 days (or buy quantity)

Our math from the published rate limits on mailtester.ninja/api. Real runs add network time and retries for timeouts. The API page does not list a separate rate for Starter.

A credit-based verifier that accepts a file upload will usually return 10,000 results in minutes, not hours. If you verify leads right before a send, plan the job a day ahead or buy a higher quantity, which also raises the per-key rate.

Authentication is a key in the query string. That is easy to test in a browser, but keep the key out of client-side code and shared logs.

MailTester Ninja Accuracy and Catch-All Handling

MailTester Ninja does not publish an accuracy percentage. Its homepage claims that verified emails mean a bounce rate under 1%.

Vendor claims, not tested by us:"a bounce rate of less than 1%" on verified emails, and a customer quote from the founder of Taap.it: "We went from a 7.50% bounce rate down to 0.20%."

A sub-1% bounce rate is a fair target for SMTP verification on addresses marked ok. It lines up with the bounce thresholds in Google's email sender guidelines, and hard bounces like the 550 permanent failure are exactly what verification should prevent.

How catch-all emails are handled

Catch-all domains accept mail for any address, so an SMTP check cannot prove a mailbox exists. MailTester Ninja returns these as mbwith the message Catch-All and states: "We never report a catch-all domain as valid."

That honesty protects your bounce rate. The downside is that B2B lists often have a large share of catch-all domains, and MailTester Ninja gives you no score to separate the likely-good ones from the risky ones.

Tools like ZeroBounce and Bouncer add scoring or deeper checks on Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 catch-alls. With MailTester Ninja, your options are to drop every mb result or send to them from a separate, low-risk mailbox and watch sender reputation closely.

MailTester Ninja vs Other Email Verifiers on Cost

MailTester Ninja beats credit-based verifiers on price at almost any volume above a few thousand emails. It loses on speed, result detail, and catch-all resolution.

ToolPricing modelEntry price~1M emailsCatch-all handling
MailTester NinjaSubscription with a daily cap$6.99 / week (100k a day)~$13.98 (two Starter weeks)Flagged as mb, never marked valid

BouncerCredits, never expireFrom $0.008 per emailVolume-tiered creditsDeep checks on Google Workspace and Microsoft 365
ZeroBounceCredits or ONE plan$39 for 2,000Volume-tiered creditsAI scoring on catch-all results

MailTester Ninja and MillionVerifier prices checked on their pricing pages in October 2026. Other prices come from our individual reviews of each tool; confirm on the vendor's site before buying.

The gap is widest for one-off cleans of large lists. Verifying 1 million emails costs about $14 on two Starter weeks against $449 on MillionVerifier, one of the cheapest credit-based tools.

Credits do have one advantage: they never expire on MillionVerifier or Bouncer. If you verify 5,000 emails a quarter, a small credit pack can cost less than keeping any subscription alive.

What MailTester Ninja Users Say

Independent review volume is small. On Trustpilot, MailTester Ninja showed a 3.8 TrustScore across 26 reviews in October 2026, and search snippets show a single review on G2.

What users like

  • Price: Several reviewers call it the best value verifier they have used.
  • Lower bounces: Users report bounce rates dropping below 1% after cleaning lists.
  • Ease of use: Paste-and-check in the web app needs no setup.

What users complain about

  • Downtime: Some reviewers report the service failing or being unavailable.
  • Slow support: Several say replies took days or never came.
  • Integration issues: A few report failures on certain domains or trouble connecting the API to other tools.

The company replies to most negative reviews, often saying it cannot find a matching account. Some replies are blunt, which is worth knowing if responsive support matters to you.

MailTester Ninja Pros and Cons

Pros

  • About $14 to verify 1 million emails on two Starter weeks.
  • Flat daily cap, so no credit math or overage surprises.
  • Catch-alls are never marked valid, which protects bounce rate.
  • Simple three-code API with public code examples.
  • No account and a stated no-storage policy for verified emails.
  • Bitcoin and Stripe payments, cancel any time.

Cons

  • About 1 check a second per key on Pro; 100,000 emails take a day.
  • No batch endpoint and no catch-all scoring.
  • No published accuracy benchmark; the under-1% bounce figure is a vendor claim.
  • Starter costs more than Pro if left running.
  • Few independent reviews, with reports of downtime and slow support.
  • No native CRM or sending-tool integrations beyond API and no-code examples.

Who Should Use MailTester Ninja (and Who Shouldn't)

Good fit

  • Cold email agencies cleaning hundreds of thousands of leads a month for several clients.
  • Developers who want a cheap verification call inside a workflow and can tolerate about one check a second.
  • Teams doing a one-off clean of a large, old list before a re-engagement campaign.

Poor fit

  • Teams with lots of catch-all B2B domains who need a score to decide which ones to send to.
  • Anyone who needs 10,000 results back in minutes before a send.
  • Low-volume users verifying a few thousand emails a quarter, who are better served by credits that never expire.
  • Buyers whose procurement needs a SOC 2 report or a support SLA, neither of which we found on the site.

MailTester Ninja Alternatives

If MailTester Ninja's speed or catch-all handling does not fit, these verifiers are the closest swaps. We have reviewed each one in depth.

  • MillionVerifier: Credit-based, $449 for 1 million, credits never expire, and a money-back promise on risky results.
  • Reoon Email Verifier: Budget credits at $11.90 per 10,000 plus a daily-credit plan.
  • Bouncer: Deeper catch-all checks on Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, SOC 2 Type II, EU data residency.
  • ZeroBounce: AI scoring on catch-alls plus inbox testing and warmup in its ONE plan.
  • NeverBounce: Pay-as-you-go with 80+ native integrations, owned by ZoomInfo.

For a wider list, including free tiers, see our guide to free email verifier software.

MailTester Ninja Review: Final Verdict

Our rating: 3.8/5. MailTester Ninja is the cheapest way we found to verify large email lists, and its catch-all labeling is honest.

Buy Pro if you verify every month, and use Starter only for a one-off clean you cancel within two weeks. Ultimate is worth the extra $16 mainly for double the API speed.

The rating loses points for slow per-key throughput, no catch-all scoring, no published accuracy test, and thin support reviews. None of that matters much if you clean big lists in advance and drop uncertain results.

Run your next list through it, hold back every mb result, and track your bounce rate on the first send. If it stays under 1%, MailTester Ninja has earned its place.

If unscored catch-all results are a dealbreaker, SyncGTM is one alternative worth a look: it verifies emails through a waterfall across multiple verification providers.
