Apollo vs RocketReach: Email and Phone Accuracy Ranked 2026
Apollo and RocketReach both sell verified emails and phone numbers, but they meter them in different places. Apollo charges credits at the reveal, 1 per email and 8 per phone number; RocketReach's annual plans reveal contacts in-app with no per-lookup charge and meter what leaves the app instead. So the cheaper tool per verified contact depends on where your reps actually work.
Apollo.io vs RocketReach is the shortlist for teams that want emails and direct dials without an enterprise data contract. Both claim 98% accuracy, both skip the charge when they can't verify an email, and both now plug into AI assistants through MCP.
The differences are the index and the meter. RocketReach searches 700M+ professional profiles and grades every email and phone it returns, while Apollo is an AI GTM system built on 240M+ contacts that bundles the data with buying signals, a dialer, and multichannel sequences.
Below, we compare accuracy claims, phone coverage, and list-price cost per verified contact as of October 2026. For each tool on its own, see our Apollo.io review and RocketReach review.
Quick Summary
Apollo.io vs RocketReach comes down to how each vendor meters verified contact data. Apollo.io is an AI GTM system with 240M+ contacts and 98% email accuracy by its own measure, priced at $49, $79, or $119 per seat per month on annual billing as of October 2026, where a verified email costs 1 credit and a phone number 8. RocketReach is a lookup-first database of 700M+ professionals that claims 98% deliverability for A-grade emails and about 65% typical phone fulfillment, priced at $329, $829, or $1,699 per seat per year with unlimited in-app lookups and 1,200, 3,600, or 20,000 exports a year. On list prices, Apollo costs about 2 cents per verified email and 16 cents per mobile, while RocketReach costs 8.5 to 27.4 cents per exported contact, phone included on Pro and Ultimate.
TL;DR
- Short answer: Apollo.io wins on cost per email and on what happens after the lookup: signals, a dialer, and sequences. RocketReach wins on index size, graded phones, and unlimited in-app lookups on annual plans.
- Email accuracy (vendor claims): Apollo reports 98% email accuracy and refunds credits for its verified emails that bounce within 30 days. RocketReach claims 98% deliverability for A-grade emails.
- Phone coverage: RocketReach reports about 65% typical phone fulfillment with A/A-/B grades, but phones start on Pro. Apollo includes phones on every plan at 8 credits each, backed by a 20+ partner waterfall, with no refunds on mobile credits.

1. Apollo.io — Prospecting, calling, and sequencing from one per-seat platform

Apollo.io — Prospecting, calling, and sequencing from one per-seat platform
Apollo.io is an AI GTM system built on 240M+ contacts and 30M+ companies, with 98% email accuracy by Apollo's own measure. You search people by title, seniority, industry, and company size, then spend credits to reveal an email or a phone number.
The credit rules matter more than the headline. As of October 2026, Apollo's pricing page charges 1 credit for a verified email and 8 for a phone number, and Apollo doesn't charge email credits for contacts without a known, valid address.
According to Apollo's help center, an Apollo-verified email that bounces on a send from Apollo within 30 days earns the credit back. Phones are stricter: Apollo charges for any phone number it returns and never refunds mobile credits, though office lines found with an email are free.
When Apollo's own record is empty, waterfall enrichment cascades through 20+ data partners for missing emails and phones. Apollo doesn't publish a phone fill rate, so test your regions first.
The bigger difference is what comes after the lookup. Buying signals (intent, job changes, and website visitors) tell reps whom to contact, sequences run email, calls, and LinkedIn tasks from your own connected mailbox with deliverability tools built in, and 200+ integrations plus Apollo MCP, CLI, and API reach the rest of the stack.
Pricing is per seat, with pooled credits that don't roll over and also pay for AI research and the US dialer (1 credit per 30 seconds). Basic caps sending at 250 emails a day from one mailbox per user; Professional lifts the cap.
As our Apollo.io review notes, G2 reviewers report weaker data outside North America. For other matchups, see Apollo.io vs ZoomInfo, Apollo.io vs Hunter.io, and our Apollo alternatives.
Pros
- +About 2 cents per verified email on annual plans (list-price math)
- +No charge for unavailable emails; bounced Apollo-verified emails refunded
- +Phone numbers on every plan, with waterfall enrichment across 20+ data partners
- +Buying signals, a dialer, and multichannel sequences sent from your own mailbox
- +200+ integrations plus Apollo MCP, CLI, and API
Cons
- −Phone numbers cost 8 credits each, and mobile credits are never refunded
- −Smaller index: 240M+ contacts versus RocketReach's 700M+ profiles
- −Credits don't roll over and also fund AI research and dialer minutes
- −Basic caps sending at 250 emails a day from one mailbox per user
- −Data is weaker outside North America, according to G2 reviewers
Best for: Prospecting, calling, and sequencing from one per-seat platform
Pricing: Free ($0, 900 credits/seat/year, granted monthly, 2 sequences); Basic $49/seat/month annually or $65 monthly (30,000 credits/seat/year); Professional $79 or $99 (48,000 credits); Organization $119, annual only, 3-seat minimum (72,000 credits); Custom via sales. Email 1 credit, phone 8. As of October 2026, apollo.io/pricing.
2. RocketReach — High-volume email and phone lookups across a 700M+ profile index

RocketReach — High-volume email and phone lookups across a 700M+ profile index
RocketReach is a lookup-first contact database covering 700M+ professionals and 60M companies. You search with 50+ filters, click Get Contact Info, and RocketReach verifies the profile in real time before showing graded emails and, on phone plans, graded phones.
Every result carries a letter grade. RocketReach's help center claims 98% deliverability for A-grade emails and 85M+ profiles refreshed each month, and its lookup guide puts typical fulfillment at 80 to 85% for email and about 65% for phone data.
Phones got a 2026 upgrade. An August partnership with Trestle added A, A-, and B confidence grades across 190M verified phone numbers, automatic removal of numbers graded invalid, and line types for mobile, direct dial, and office phones.
The billing rule is generous: a lookup is charged only when RocketReach returns at least one verified email or phone number. On phone plans, one lookup can still return only an email or only a phone.
Pricing is per seat, and billing cadence changes the meter. As of October 2026, RocketReach's pricing page lists Essentials (email only) at $49 a month or $329 a year, Pro (email and phone) at $99 or $829, and Ultimate at $209 or $1,699.
Monthly plans meter 100, 250, or 1,000 lookups a month. Annual plans make lookups unlimited up to a 10,000-a-month fair-use cap but limit exports to 1,200, 3,600, or 20,000 a year, and CSV downloads, CRM syncs, the API, and MCP all spend export credits.
It's also less of a pure lookup tool than it was. In February 2026 RocketReach launched Sequences and expanded intent data to 35,000+ topics, in July it shipped an MCP server, and on October 1 it became a Gong Enrich data partner.
Outreach is still lighter than Apollo's: sending caps at 500 emails a day, CRM integrations start on Pro, and intent topics are Ultimate-only. If that's a dealbreaker, see our RocketReach alternatives.

*List-price math on annual billing as of October 2026, assuming every credit or export is used. Accuracy figures are each vendor's own claims.
Email accuracy. Both say 98%, but Apollo's figure covers email accuracy across its database, while RocketReach's applies only to A-grade emails, with about 90% delivery on its top-scored addresses. Run 100 contacts with known-good emails through both free plans before you commit.
Either way, re-verify older records before a big send; our best B2B email finder tools guide covers verifiers worth adding.
Phone coverage. RocketReach is the more transparent phone source: it publishes a fill rate, grades every number, labels line types, and doesn't charge for office lines. Apollo's mobiles cost 8 credits with no refund; if direct dials are the main job, also check our phone number enrichment tools roundup.
Cost per verified contact (list-price math). Apollo Basic costs $588 a year ($49 × 12) for 30,000 credits, or 1.96 cents a credit: about 2 cents per verified email and 15.7 cents per mobile at 8 credits. Professional ($948 for 48,000) and Organization ($1,428 for 72,000) land at the same 2 cents a credit.
RocketReach's annual plans don't charge per lookup, so the meter that matters is exports. Essentials is $329 ÷ 1,200 = 27.4 cents per exported contact, Pro is $829 ÷ 3,600 = 23 cents with the phone included, and Ultimate is $1,699 ÷ 20,000 = 8.5 cents; monthly plans run 49, 39.6, and 20.9 cents per verified lookup.
So one rep syncing 3,000 contacts a year with email and mobile to a CRM pays $588 on Apollo Basic (27,000 credits, 19.6 cents a contact) versus $829 on RocketReach Pro (27.6 cents). Flip it, and a recruiter working phones inside RocketReach can unlock up to 10,000 contacts a month on that Pro seat, while Apollo Basic's credits stop at 3,750 mobiles a year.
Pros
- +700M+ professional profiles, nearly three times Apollo's contact count
- +Lookups refunded unless a verified email or phone number is returned
- +Graded phone data (A, A-, B) with mobile, direct dial, and office line types
- +Unlimited in-app lookups on annual plans, up to 10,000 a month
- +MCP and API access on every plan, plus a Chrome extension
Cons
- −Annual exports capped at 1,200 to 20,000 a year, including CRM syncs, API, and MCP
- −No phone numbers on Essentials or the free account
- −Native CRM integrations start on Pro, and intent data is Ultimate-only
- −Sending caps at 500 emails a day on every plan
- −Monthly plans allow only 100 to 1,000 lookups a month
Best for: High-volume email and phone lookups across a 700M+ profile index
Pricing: Per seat: Essentials (email only) $49/month or $329/year; Pro (email + phone) $99 or $829; Ultimate $209 or $1,699. Monthly: 100, 250, or 1,000 lookups/month. Annual: unlimited lookups (10,000/month fair use), 1,200, 3,600, or 20,000 exports/year. Team plans from $6K/year; free account: 5 lookups. As of October 2026, rocketreach.co/pricing.
Comparison Table
| Tool | Best For | Free Tier | Starting Price | Standout Feature |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apollo.io | Prospecting, calling, and sequencing from one per-seat platform | Yes (900 credits per seat per year, granted monthly) | $49/seat/month (Basic, annual) | About 2 cents per verified email on annual plans, plus signals, a dialer, and sequences in the same seat |
| RocketReach | High-volume email and phone lookups across a 700M+ profile index | Yes (5 lookups, emails only) | $329/seat/year (Essentials, annual) or $49/month | Unlimited in-app lookups on annual plans, with graded phones from the Pro tier |
How to Choose
- Apollo.io if you need prospecting, calling, and sequencing from one per-seat platform
- RocketReach if you need high-volume email and phone lookups across a 700M+ profile index
Final Verdict
Pick Apollo.io if your reps prospect, call, and sequence in one place and push contacts into a CRM. On October 2026 list prices it is the far cheaper source of verified emails, about 2 cents each versus 8.5 to 27.4 cents per exported RocketReach contact, and the same seat adds signals, a dialer, and multichannel sequences.
Pick RocketReach if your job is finding people rather than running sequences: recruiters, researchers, and account-based sellers who need graded direct dials and a 700M+ profile index. An $829 annual Pro seat reveals emails and phones in-app with no per-lookup charge, up to 10,000 a month, while Apollo Basic's credits stretch to 3,750 mobiles a year.
The tiebreaker is where the data goes. If contacts end up in a CRM, sequencer, or AI agent, RocketReach's export caps erase its edge and Apollo wins on cost; if they stay in the app and phones matter most, RocketReach gives more verified numbers per dollar.
Whichever you choose, SyncGTM can strengthen the enrichment behind it with verified emails, phone numbers, and firmographics from 50+ providers.
