ZoomInfo vs Cognism: US vs EMEA Contact Data Ranked 2026

ZoomInfo vs Cognism comes down to where your buyers sit. ZoomInfo's own data page lists 157.8M+ North American contacts against 66M+ in Europe. Cognism leads with mobiles it verifies by phone and do-not-call screening that is on by default. Match the vendor to your territory, then test both on your own accounts.

ZoomInfo vs Cognism is the shortlist most B2B teams land on when they sell into both North America and Europe. ZoomInfo is the enterprise go-to-market data platform, now pitched as a GTM intelligence layer, while Cognism calls itself Europe's most trusted B2B data provider and built its name on phone-verified mobile numbers.

Both claim GDPR and CCPA compliance, and both sell quote-based contracts. Both also moved in 2026: Cognism shipped a native HubSpot 2-Way Sync in February plus CRM Enrichment and job-change detection, while ZoomInfo acquired DoubleO.ai on September 30 to run multi-agent GTM workflows.

Below, we compare regional coverage, phone data, compliance, signals, and pricing, using each vendor's own pages and Vendr buyer data checked in October 2026. For single-vendor deep dives, read our ZoomInfo review and Cognism review.

Quick Summary

ZoomInfo vs Cognism is a regional decision more than a feature decision. ZoomInfo lists 500M+ professional profiles, 300M+ verified emails, 135M+ direct dials, and 4,500+ intent topics, and its own regional figures show 157.8M+ contacts and 77.7M+ mobiles in North America against 66M+ contacts and 18.5M+ mobiles in Europe. Cognism publishes no totals; it claims 10M+ phone-verified Diamond Data contacts, a 3x connect rate, and 90% coverage of director-level and above contacts in Europe and the US. Both rely on legitimate interest under GDPR, but Cognism screens phone numbers against national do-not-call registries by default, while ZoomInfo's DNC suppression is an admin setting. Both are quote-only: ZoomInfo's entry Professional package is reported at about $14,995 a year for 3 seats, with a Vendr median of $33,500, and Cognism includes 5 seats in Standard and Pro. Pick ZoomInfo for North America-first coverage and native signals; pick Cognism for EMEA-first phone prospecting.

TL;DR

  • Short answer: ZoomInfo wins for teams selling mainly into North America that want the biggest single database, direct dials, and native intent. Cognism wins for EMEA-first teams that work the phone and want do-not-call screening on by default.
  • Regional coverage: ZoomInfo lists 157.8M+ contacts and 77.7M+ mobile numbers in North America, against 66M+ contacts and 18.5M+ mobiles in Europe. Cognism publishes no totals but claims 90% coverage of director-level and above contacts in Europe and the US.
  • Phone data: Cognism verifies its Diamond Data mobiles by calling them and claims 10M+ phone-verified contacts and a 3x connect rate. ZoomInfo claims 135M+ direct dials and 87% mobile accuracy.
  • Compliance: Both process EU data under legitimate interest and notify data subjects. Cognism screens phone data by default against national do-not-call registries; ZoomInfo's DNC suppression is an admin toggle, and it doesn't publish which registries it covers.
  • Signals: ZoomInfo's intent (4,500+ topics), website visitors, and Champion Tracking start at Copilot Advanced, and its person-level WebSight BuyerID works only in the US. Cognism's intent is Bombora Company Surge, up to 12 topics, on Pro only.
  • Cost: Both are quote-only. ZoomInfo's entry Professional package is reported at ~$14,995 a year for 3 seats (Vendr median: $33,500); Cognism's packages include 5 seats, benchmarked by Vendr in 2025 at $22,513–$37,498 a year before discounts.

What We Evaluated

  • ZoomInfo vs Cognism regional coverage: contacts, companies, and mobile numbers by region, using ZoomInfo's published regional counts and Cognism's coverage claims
  • Phone data: how each vendor verifies mobiles and what it claims about accuracy and connect rates
  • GDPR and CCPA posture: lawful basis, data-subject notification, opt-out handling, and whether do-not-call screening is on by default
  • Signals: intent source and topic limits, website visitor identification, job changes, and which package unlocks each
  • Pricing: package names, included seats, credit rules, free options, and Vendr buyer benchmarks
  • Workflow fit: CRM sync, enrichment, API and MCP access, and 2026 releases

1. ZoomInfo — Deep North American coverage, direct dials, and native intent at enterprise scale

ZoomInfo - Deep North American coverage, direct dials, and native intent at enterprise scale

ZoomInfo — Deep North American coverage, direct dials, and native intent at enterprise scale

ZoomInfo is an enterprise go-to-market data platform that now calls itself a GTM Intelligence Layer. Its data page lists 500M+ professional profiles, 122M+ companies, 300M+ verified business emails, 135M+ direct dials, and 4,500+ intent topics.

The same page splits coverage by region, and that split frames this whole comparison. North America has 157.8M+ contacts, 79.6M+ companies, and 77.7M+ mobile numbers; Europe has 66M+ contacts, 20.5M+ companies, and 18.5M+ mobiles; Asia has 68.3M+ contacts.

ZoomInfo claims 96% email deliverability and 87% mobile accuracy, from machine-learning checks plus a human research team. Treat both as vendor claims, not audited results.

Signals are where ZoomInfo pulls ahead: intent across 4,500+ topics, WebSights visitor identification, Champion Tracking, and Scoops. Its pricing page places intent, website visitors, and Champion Tracking at Copilot Advanced and above, and the newer person-level WebSight BuyerID works only in the US, with GDPR markets out of scope.

ZoomInfo holds SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and TRUSTe GDPR and CCPA validations, and is a registered data broker in California and Vermont. Its privacy policy cites legitimate interest for direct marketing and sales as a lawful basis and says it notifies data subjects under GDPR Articles 13 and 14; opt-outs run through its Privacy Center in 48–72 hours.

Do-not-call handling is opt-in. An admin turns on DNC suppression to mask numbers on supported national registries across the account, but ZoomInfo doesn't publish which registries it supports and says the feature is no substitute for your own compliance.

Pricing is quote-only across three sales plans: Professional, Copilot Advanced, and Copilot Enterprise. The entry Professional package is widely reported at ~$14,995 a year for 3 seats, and Vendr’s data from 1,574 purchases puts the median contract at $33,500 (range $7,220–$155,730), with buyers saving about 22% on average.

ZoomInfo introduced regional Data Passports (Europe, North America Plus, Global) in 2021, and Cognism's comparison page says they are still licensed separately, so confirm which regions your quote covers. For seat math, see our ZoomInfo cost guide, or compare it with Apollo.io and Clay.

Pros

  • +Largest published dataset here: 500M+ profiles, 300M+ verified emails, and 135M+ direct dials by ZoomInfo's count
  • +Deepest North American coverage by its own regional figures: 157.8M+ contacts and 77.7M+ mobile numbers
  • +Native signals from the same source as the contacts: 4,500+ intent topics, WebSights, Champion Tracking, and Scoops
  • +Certification stack built for security reviews: SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and TRUSTe GDPR and CCPA validations
  • +Free ZoomInfo Lite tier and a free trial on every paid sales plan

Cons

  • −Europe is a fraction of the US dataset: 66M+ contacts and 18.5M+ mobiles vs 157.8M+ and 77.7M+ in North America
  • −Person-level WebSight BuyerID is US-only; ZoomInfo says GDPR markets are not in scope
  • −Do-not-call suppression is an opt-in admin setting, and the supported registry list isn't published
  • −No published prices; Vendr's median contract is $33,500 a year, and the reported entry package covers only 3 seats
  • −Intent, website visitors, and Champion Tracking start above the entry Professional plan

Best for: Deep North American coverage, direct dials, and native intent at enterprise scale

Pricing: Quote-based contracts. Sales plans: Professional, Copilot Advanced, and Copilot Enterprise (free trial on each). Entry Professional package widely reported at ~$14,995/year for 3 seats. Vendr median: $33,500/year (range $7,220–$155,730; 1,574 purchases, February 2026). Free ZoomInfo Lite: 10 credits/month, or 25 with Community Edition.

2. Cognism — EMEA-first prospecting with phone-verified mobiles and default DNC screening

Cognism - EMEA-first prospecting with phone-verified mobiles and default DNC screening

Cognism — EMEA-first prospecting with phone-verified mobiles and default DNC screening

Cognism is a B2B sales intelligence platform built for European revenue teams, and its homepage leads with “Europe’s most trusted B2B data for growing pipeline.” It says 4,000+ revenue teams use it.

Its headline asset is Diamond Data: mobile numbers Cognism verifies by calling them and confirming the right person picks up. Cognism claims 10M+ phone-verified contacts globally and a 3x connect rate versus unverified mobiles.

Cognism doesn't publish a total contact count or a regional split. Its data page instead claims 90% coverage of director-level and above contacts in Europe and the US, with 95% of them refreshed every 30 days.

Compliance is the core pitch. Its compliance hub says Cognism processes data under legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), notifies business contacts of their inclusion within GDPR timeframes, holds ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and SOC 2 Type II, and is a registered data broker in California.

Phone data is screened by default against national do-not-call registries, including the UK's TPS and CTPS, the US, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Sweden, and Belgium. Cognism counts 16 DNC lists on its data page (its compliance hub still says 15) and says it doesn't collect B2C email addresses.

Signals cover hiring, funding and M&A, job changes, and technographics across 20,000+ technologies. Intent comes from Bombora's Company Surge: admins pick up to 12 topics from a library of 11,000+, and 2026 updates added location filtering and topic thresholds, but intent is Pro-only.

Pricing at cognism.com/pricing is quote-only, with two prospecting packages that each include 5 seats: Standard (emails, mobiles, signals, AI search, MCP and API access) and Pro (adds intent, a premium mobile filter, and on-demand mobile verification). One credit reveals one contact, and a credit is spent again only when that contact changes jobs.

Vendr's last published Cognism benchmarks (September 2025, under the retired Grow and Elevate names) put 5 users at $22,513 a year on the lower tier and $37,498 on the upper tier, before discounts.

European users rate it highly: Cognism reports a Leader placement and a G2 Score of 88 from 759 European reviews in G2’s Autumn 2026 Europe grid, where ZoomInfo's GTM Workspace sat among the Contenders. For more, read our Cognism review or Cognism alternatives.

Pros

  • +Phone-verified Diamond Data mobiles, plus on-demand verification in under 48 hours on Pro
  • +Do-not-call screening on by default across the UK (TPS/CTPS), US, Australia, and major EU registries
  • +Notified, legitimate-interest database backed by ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and SOC 2 Type II
  • +5 seats included in every package, and re-reveals are free unless a contact changes jobs
  • +A Leader in G2's Autumn 2026 Europe sales intelligence grid, per Cognism

Cons

  • −No published database totals or regional counts, so US depth is hard to size before a trial
  • −Intent is third-party (Bombora), capped at 12 selected topics, and Pro-only
  • −No website visitor identification or sequencing in either package
  • −Quote-only with no free plan; Vendr's last benchmarks started above $22,000 a year for 5 users
  • −CRM Enrichment is a paid add-on, and its new suite supports Salesforce first

Best for: EMEA-first prospecting with phone-verified mobiles and default DNC screening

Pricing: Quote-based. Sales prospecting: Standard and Pro, 5 seats included in each; CRM Enrichment as an add-on or standalone product. 1 credit = 1 revealed contact; credits are used again only on a job change. Vendr's last published benchmarks (September 2025, old Grow/Elevate names): $22,513/year for 5 users on the lower tier and $37,498/year on the upper tier, before discounts.

How to Choose

  • ZoomInfo if you need deep North American coverage, direct dials, and native intent at enterprise scale
  • Cognism if you need EMEA-first prospecting with phone-verified mobiles and default DNC screening

Final Verdict

Pick ZoomInfo if most of your pipeline sits in North America. Its own numbers show 157.8M+ North American contacts and 77.7M+ mobiles, more than double its European contacts and four times its European mobiles, with native intent, WebSights, and Champion Tracking from Copilot Advanced up. Budget for Vendr's $33,500 median rather than the entry quote, and negotiate: buyers save about 22% on average.

Pick Cognism if EMEA is your core market and your reps live on the phone. Phone-verified mobiles, do-not-call screening that is on by default, and a notified database remove friction for teams calling into the UK and Europe. Choose Pro if you need intent or on-demand verification, since Standard has neither.

If you sell across both regions, run a bake-off instead of picking on brand: pull 200 records per region from each vendor and compare bounce and connect rates. Ask ZoomInfo which regions your quote covers and whether DNC suppression will be on, and ask Cognism for a US sample at your buyers' seniority. Running one vendor per region is a defensible answer.

Whichever you choose, SyncGTM can strengthen the enrichment behind it with verified emails, phone numbers, and firmographics from 50+ providers.
